2006 College Scholarship Recipient
NAME: Steven VonSpreckelsen "I plan to graduate in four years with a bachelor's degree in youth ministry and go on to eventually work in the Child Life profession. In Child Life, I can work in a hospital with kids going through the same thing that I was/am faced with. I get good grades in school, but to do that I have to work harder than a normal person. When I am not doing schoolwork, I play bass guitar with a worship band or help other students. I have worked hard to try to support my community; when I had cancer, my community helped support me throughout the entire experience, so I am trying to do what I can to give back to that great community and others." Editor's Note: Steven is a 42-month survivor of a medulloblastoma brain tumor and brain cancer. |
